There is an abundance of churches and monasteries in Macedonia, lot of them built between the 11th and 16th centuries. A great number of them deserve visitors’ attention, but here I will only present four of them, all in the area of Ohrid Lake. They are the churches St. Sophia and St. Jovan Kaneo, and the monasteries St. Naum and St. Pantelejmon or Plaoshnik.

To the west and south Croatia has access to the Adriatic Sea and the mainland coastline is 1 880 kilometers long.
